1. Russell Wilson, QB (Seattle Seahawks)

Nine years before Russell Wilson was born, a musical group named “The Whispers” released a song entitled, And the Beat Goes On.

That is the sentiment for Wilson and his MVP candidacy after Week 2. Wilson has guided the Seahawks to wins over the Falcons and Patriots in successive weeks, and he’s been near-perfect while doing so. If you’re familiar with Seattle Seahawks games, you know that the vast majority of them are topsy-turvy or have oddities that occur to make the game rather intense. It’s because of this suspense that Mr. Unlimited maintains a stranglehold on the No. 1 spot this week.

Wilson’s completion percentage is flat-out naughty and some of the passes he’s choreographing are picturesque, especially the deep ones. He passed for 288 yards and an unscrupulous five touchdowns in the Seahawks 35-30 last-minute defeat of the New England Patriots.

Barring injury or a bizarre performance cliff dive, Wilson will remain in the driver’s seat for the league MVP award. He’s basically been flawless threw two weeks, and the scales of justice demand he that receive MVP consideration in 2020.

Next up — the Dallas Cowboys, in what will probably be another shootout. Get your fantasy lineups set for it.
