Chicago Bears fans are rejoicing after Nick Foles worked his magic to lead a comeback that could be the spark of something special.

For the second straight week, the Atlanta Falcons blew a lead. We made all of our remember 28-3??  jokes last week because the idea that it would happen twice in a row seemed pretty ridiculous.

But the Falcons are going to Falcon, and they did so in embarrassing fashion on Sunday.

After Mitchell Trubisky was benched and the Falcons had mounted a 26-10 lead, Nick Foles stepped in and led the Chicago Bears back. The headline we thought that was going to come out of this was that Trubisky had finally been pushed aside, but Foles not only replaced Trubisky but delivered a comeback for the ages.

The Big Nick Energy culminated in a tremendous — and improbable, considering this is the Chicago Bears — touchdown pass to seal the deal.

To fully appreciate the comeback, you need to rewind to Foles’ first touchdown with the Bears. After replacing Trubisky, Foles led the Bears down the field and started what could be a very fruitful relationship with Jimmy Graham.

With Trubisky, the Bears defense was almost an afterthought despite how good it is. No matter what they did their efforts were to break even and not close out. That changed with Foles, and at the first opportunity to do so, the Bears defense ate.

While we don’t want to be prisoners of the moment, this is a seismic shift for the Bears. This simply does not happen if Trubisky is the quarterback, so the question to walk away from this is what does this do to the Bears overall confidence? Chicago is 3-0 and very well could be in sole possession of the NFC North by the end of the day.

As for the Falcons, there really aren’t words to describe whatever the hell it is that just happened — again.
