Dodgers great Ron Perranoski passes away at 84
Los Angeles Dodgers great Ron Perranoski has passed away.
2020 continues to take some of the all-time greats from us.
On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers shared the sad news that former reliever Ron Perranoski has passed away.
Perranoski was 84.

Ron Perranoski was one of the greatest left-handed relievers of all time
Perranoski, who played for Los Angeles from 1961-67 and then again in 1972 for a second stint, was a two-time World Series champion (1963, 1965) with the club as a player. He also won two more World Series with the team in 1981 and 1988 as a pitching coach, a role he served for 14 years in LA.
Perranoski also suited up for the Minnesota Twins, Detroit Tigers and California Angels during his playing days. He was a two-time AL saves leader with the Twins, and after his time serving as a pitching coach for Los Angeles, he joined the San Francisco Giants as a pitching coordinator, bench coach and eventually, pitching coach.
In 1983, Perranoski was inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame.
During his time in MLB, Perranoski recorded a 79-74 win-loss record, a 2.79 ERA, 667 strikeouts and 178 saves. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ron Perranoski, his family and friends, and the Dodgers community at large during this difficult time.
