Bryce Harper sent a special message to Phillies fans and made it clear he wants the front office to do whatever it takes to re-sign superstar catcher JT Realmuto.

While the postseason may be in full swing, the Philadelphia Phillies are watching the rest of the campaign from their couches following a disappointing 2020 campaign. However, Bryce Harper is already looking forward to next season, and he wants to make sure one of his closest friends is back with him in the clubhouse.

We’re of course talking about standout catcher JT Realmuto, who is getting ready to hit free agency. However, Harper sent quite the statement to the front office in his latest Instagram post.

Phillies fans will be sitting on pins and needles to see if the Phillies can bring break JT Realmuto

The Phillies surely underwhelmed this past season, going 28-32 and finishing in third place of the NL East standings. With such a talented lineup, that’s simply not going to cut it. However, losing Realmuto would be a monster blow, especially since he’s widely considered to be the best catcher in the bigs.

In 2020, Realmuto hit .266 with 11 homers and 32 RBI. It was his second campaign in The City of Brotherly Love, joining the club in 2019. That season, he earned All-Star Game honors, plus a Golden Glove and Silver Slugger. In ’19, Realmuto hit .275, with 25 dingers and 83 RBI.

Moving forward, Harper knows just how important Realmuto is to helping the team get back to a position where they can compete for a World Series title. That’s why he’s ready to don his friend’s jersey all winter until a new deal can be reached. Seeing Realmuto sign elsewhere will be a major bummer for Harper and Phillies fans across the country, no doubt.
