Fans of the New York Yankees can’t contain their sadness after another meltdown against the Rays.

The New York Yankees are not good for the mental health of their fans right now.

At least, that’s what you’d find if you dipped your toes into Yankee Twitter on Wednesday night as New York let the Rays rain down runs in Game 3 of the ALDS

After Tampa Bay took an 8-2 lead coming out of the sixth inning, it was too much for fans in pinstripes.

The Yankees are making their fans extremely sad this postseason

There are stages to these things. Usually, they start with anger. Yankees fans have plenty of that.

Anger mingles with frustration to produce feelings of betrayal.

But eventually, the fire goes out and all that’s left is a cold sadness.

And tears.

Lots of tears.

It would help if the Yankees could stop Randy Arozarena who has now homered in three straight games against New York.

Arozarena isn’t the only problem for the Yankees though. Basically, it comes down to pitching. Wednesday was the first time New York has allowed more than seven runs and more than three home runs in back-to-back games in the postseason, per Katie Sharp of Talkin Yanks.

The series started out just fine for the Yankees. They were the ones with the hot bats, winning Game 1, 9-3. Things have cooled off while the pitching has taken a dive for the worst since then. On Tuesday, they gave up four home runs and fell 7-5 as they let the Rays even up the series at 1-1.

With a win on Wednesday night, Tampa Bay will now carry the 2-1 series advantage into Game 4 on Thursday with a chance to eliminate New York from the postseason.
