The Tampa Bay Rays enjoyed a rendition of “New York, New York” after beating the Yankees in the ALDS.

The Tampa Bay Rays won the ALDS after a tight series with the New York Yankees with a 2-1 victory on Friday night.

What do you do after beating a team from New York? If you’re the Rays, you blast the classic tune “New York, New York” from the stadium speakers.

And when that’s over, you keep up the theme of the night with the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys single “Empire State of Mind.”

That’s some classic trolling from the Rays.

The Rays earned their right to gloat over the Yankees

After such a fiercely contested Game 5, the Rays could hardly be blamed for letting off some steam with some good ol’ fashioned trolling.

Tampa Bay fell behind in the fourth inning on an Aaron Judge home run.

Andrew Meadows responded in the fifth inning with a blast of his own which resulted in Judge comically banging his head against the Petco Park wall in an attempt to deny the home run.

In the sixth inning, Randy Gardner actually did prevent a home run from Randy Arozarena with a leaping catch at the wall.

Mike Brosseau’s eighth-inning home run proved to be the game-winning dinger, launching him into hero status for the Rays.

Tampa Bay’s players may have preferred to celebrate their first ALDS series victory since 2008 with fans in the stands, but they at least had their families present and some awesome tunes.

They’ll take on the Houston Astros in the ALCS, hoping to reach the World Series for the first time since that 2008 season. If they pull through that seven-game series they’ll have a chance to play Dean Martin’s “Houston” after the decisive game.
