Members of the Dallas Cowboys sent messages of support to quarterback Dak Prescott as he recovers from his horrific ankle injury.

On Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys were engaged in an offensive duel with the rival New York Giants. Quarterback Dak Prescott was doing his part, and led his team in the end zone on numerous occasions. However, tragedy struck in the third quarter, as Prescott suffered a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle, requiring immediate surgery that night. Now, Prescott is out for the season, but his teammates will ensure the campaign won’t go to waste in his absence.

The Cowboys’ official Twitter account released a one-minute video of a variety of players wishing Prescott well, while also dedicating the remainder of the 2020 season. Some of those to appear in the clip include running back Ezekiel Elliott, defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence and wide receiver Amari Cooper.

Fours up all year

The Cowboys season has been far from perfect. Their defense has been one of the worst in the league and the offensive line is in complete shambles. But there has been one consistent figure on the entire team has been Prescott, who figuratively and literally put his team on the back, especially in Dallas’ comeback victory in Week 2 over the Atlanta Falcons.

In his five appearances, Prescott threw for 1,865 yards (NFL-leading), nine touchdowns and four interceptions on the season, all on a 68.0 completion percentage.

With Prescott facing a four-to-six month recovery, the Cowboys will now lean upon Andy Dalton to lead the offense. Dallas signed the former Cincinnati Bengals starting signal caller for this very reason, as an insurance policy in case Prescott were to miss time this season. The time has arrived for Dalton. Luckily for him, he has a supporting cast consisting of Elliott, Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup to work with. That’s a squad quarterbacks would kill for. When entering in relief of Prescott on Sunday, Dalton managed to complete 9-of-11 pass attempts for 111 yards against the Giants.

Make no mistake about it, the team is far from deterred. They want to return to the playoffs, while throwing fours up the rest of the season for Prescott.

Andy Dalton can absolutely lead the Cowboys to the playoffs. dark. Next
