A ice resurfaced at an ice rink in upstate New York caught fire and took its driver on the ride of his life.

Goodness gracious, great ice resurfaces of fire.

No literally. There was an ice resurfacer on fire in Rochester and the video is unbelievable.

What do you do when your ice-flattening vehicle goes up in flames? Apparently, you keep driving.

Here’s another even more wild angle showing the driver continuing to drive the flaming vehicle, instead of putting as much space between the flaming contraption and himself.

And here’s a photo if the videos weren’t proof enough of how bizarre an ice resurfacing fire looks.

Apparently these things can catch fire

This isn’t the only instance of an ice resurfacing vehicle bursting into flames on record.

An ice rink in Pennsylvania had a similar incident in December of 2007. It’s not clear what started that fire but apparently cleaning up after a Zamboni fire is a complicated situation with fuel like propane and hydraulic fluid on the ice.

Hopefully, the driver, in this case, is alright and the ice rink in question didn’t suffer too much damage. As it is, replacing that vehicle will be a pretty big expense.

What’s the take away from all this? Basically, avoid flaming ice resurfacers.
