Carlos Correa will irritate all of the Houston Astros haters with his Game 5 walkoff celebration

The Houston Astros have solidified themselves as the villains of MLB, and perhaps the biggest heel of the team is shortstop Carlos Correa. After the team was found guilty of electronically stealing signs throughout the 2017 season, Correa was combative towards the detractors, especially his fellow players in the league. Following Houston’s sweep over the Minnesota Twins, Correa clapped back at his haters, claiming they can’t say anything after their advancement. And here’s Houston in the ALCS, something that no one expected to happen. And Correa made them eat their own words on Thursday.

In the bottom of the ninth-inning, Correa smashed a solo home run off Tampa Bay Rays reliever Nick Anderson to force Game 6. If Astros haters weren’t irritated enough, just look at Correa’s savage reaction to the blast.

Correa is feeding off the hatred

As if Correa’s celebration wasn’t savage enough, manager Dusty Baker told the media after the game that Correa told him that he was hitting a walkoff before stepping into the batters box. That’s right, the shortstop called his shot.

The Astros managed to take an early 1-0 lead after George Springer’s leadoff home run in the first-inning. After the Rays tied things up, Michael Brantley hit a two-RBI single in the bottom of the third-inning to give Houston a 3-1 lead. Ji-Man Choi’s game-tying home run (and epic bat flip) in the eighth inning just wasn’t enough, as Correa sent Houston home. Well, back to their hotel in San Diego, to be specific.

Whether you like him or hate him, you have to give him credit. He helped the Astros live to see another day in the ALCS. Now, he looks to force a Game 7 on Friday.
