Acuña leaping is becoming the Jordan logo of Atlanta

Acuña and the Braves are one win away from World Series glory. Their elite bottom of the sixth inning, in which they batted around, chased future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw and scored six runs in the process, put the game away with three frames to spare. As the leadoff hitter, Acuña jumpstarts the Braves offense, and officially got going in the NLCS with a 2-for-4 showing in Game 5. Before that outing, he’d been hitting under .200 through four games, which wasn’t up to his standards.

Along with Marcell Ozuna, Acuña seems to be hitting his stride at the right time. With the Braves sixth inning in full swing (literally), Acuña celebrated more runs coming across with the gif of the postseason for Braves fans.

If Acuña gets going, the Braves offense will be impossible to stop

Brian Snitker has stuck with Acuña despite his struggles this series, and it paid off big-time in Game 5. Acuña is one of the best leadoff hitters in the game, and should he turn on the jets for one final NLCS win and the World Series, the Braves would have to be prohibitive favorites against any team that gets in their way.

Atlanta’s lineup is as powerful as any remaining in the postseason. Factor in the timely pitching that no one saw coming (outside of Max Fried), and the Braves playoff run isn’t so hard to justify, after all.
