Dodgers make epic 3-1 comeback to clinch spot in the World Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers are going to the World Series after overturning a 3-1 series deficit in the NLCS against the Braves.

The Dodgers just clinched the NL pennant and are World Series bound.

With a 3-1 comeback in the NLCS against the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles is just the 14th team to win the three games in a row needed to take the series 4-3.

Corey Seager, who hit five home runs in the series while batting .375, picked up the NLCS MVP Award.

The Dodgers came away winners after an epic comeback in the NLCS

On Sunday night, the Dodgers needed a mini-comeback to secure the win. The Braves jumped out to a 2-0 lead with runs on a Marcell Ozuna single and a Dansby Swanson home run in the first and second innings. Will Smith evened things up in the third inning with a two-run single.

Atlanta didn’t go away though. They came out of the fourth inning with a one-run lead thanks to an RBI single from Austin Riley.

The Dodgers finished stronger. Enrique Hernandez tied things up in the sixth inning with a home run before Cody Bellinger put it away with a seventh-inning home run.

LA’s bats came up big when it mattered, but their defense was also critical. Mookie Betts denied the Braves a home run with yet another spectacular leaping catch at the wall while Justin Turner created a double play with a heads up play between home plate and third.

Finally, Julio Urias snagged the win with three hitless innings to end the game.

This is the third time Los Angeles will appear in the World Series in the last four seasons. After losing to the Astros in 2017 and the Red Sox in 2018, they’re hoping the outcome is different this time.

The Dodgers will go on to face the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series which will begin on Tuesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
