Derrick Henry – Tennessee Titans

Last year’s rushing champion made it impossible for him to be left off this week’s list of stars and studs after a Herculean performance in the Titans’ thrilling overtime win over AFC South rivals the Houston Texans.

Henry had 264 yards from scrimmage, with 212 of those coming on the ground as he rushed for a pair of touchdowns, including the game-winner in the 42-36 shootout.

His efforts saw Henry lead all scorers in both standard scoring and PPR leagues through Sunday, amassing a mammoth 40.4 points in the latter format.

There were fears the Titans offense may regress from 2019, with much of those concerns tied to Henry and his workload.

Henry carried the ball 303 times in 2019 as he racked up 1,540 yards on the ground.

Many did not expect that workload to be sustainable in 2020 but, through five games, Henry again leads the league in rushing attempts and yards with 588 and six touchdowns on 123 carries.

Henry is running at a slightly less efficient clip of 4.8 yards per attempt — he averaged 5.1 in 2019 — but what is clear is that he remains a focal point of the Tennessee offense and is showing absolutely no signs of wearing down.

Barring injury, he should remain a dominant RB1 in fantasy whose level of opportunities and big-play upside make him a potential league-winner for fantasy owners who backed him to maintain his 2019 success.
