Who else would run through a brick wall for Terry McLaurin?

There’s a handful of things fans of the Washington Football Team can cheer for in 2020. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin and literally whatever he does is one of them.

Following a 25-3 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, Ron Rivera opened the floor to players to speak on a job well done. McLaurin, who isn’t a captain and still is one of the younger talents on the roster, certainly showed Riverboat Ron why he’s becoming the face of the offense.

And if you were’t a fan of McLaurin before this speech, you most certainly will be after.

“Now we’re right in the thick of it, “McLaurin told his teammates after speaking highly of the way both sides played. “We’re going to take this week off, take care of yourself, take care of each other, take care of your bodies, man because we’re right in the middle of everything we want.”

He’s not wrong as now sitting at 2-5, Washington is tied for second place with Cowboys in the dreaded NFC East. If the offense plays like they did against a worn-torn Dallas roster, playoffs are not out of the questions.

Washington’s down, but not out of the playoff race

Even with Kyle Allen taking starting reps, the team looked balanced for the first time all season. Allen finished with 194 passing yards and two touchdowns while the run game added over 200 total yards. McLaurin was the star of the pass-catchers, leading the charge with seven catches for 90 yards and scoring on an impressive 52-yard pass.

Jon Bostic’s hit will be the storyline of the afternoon knocking out Andy Dalton, but this should be the headline fans talk of. McLaurin is slowly transforming into a leader a role model while also proving his worth thanks to quality production. And after a bye week, maybe the team will listen to his words and fight to the finish.
