5. NFL Week 8 best bets: Indianapolis Colts -2.5
The Colts got to take their bye week this Sunday and it seems like most people forgot about this team. Things have been trending in the wrong direction for a bit with Indianapolis, which got beaten up by the Browns before rallying from a huge early hole to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
Indy hits the road this week where they are 2.5 point favorites against the Detroit Lions, who caught a huge break at the end and took advantage of it to stun the Falcons in Atlanta. The win brought the Lions to 3-3 but they haven’t inspired a ton of confidence in their ability to keep this game close against a quality defense.
Detroit also struggles to stop the run, giving up 131.8 yards per game on the ground, which is a bad recipe against a Colts’ team that likes to pound the football with rookie Jonathan Taylor. Laying less than a field goal is a bargain so lay the points with the Colts to improve to 5-2 on the season.
