Scouting Report. East. Washington Football Team. 3. Pick Analysis. NFC. player. 58

The benching of Dwayne Haskins was a sign that Washington is just about done with their former first-round pick. While Kyle Allen is playing well enough to keep them in the playoff hunt, you won’t find a single person in Washington not named Scott Turner who believes that he can be a long-term starting quarterback. Washington might snoop around other young quarterbacks that could be on the move, like New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold, but Minshew could help them win in both 2020 and beyond.

Trading for Minshew would be an ideal addition for Ron Rivera, as it could potentially answer the team’s short and long-term quarterback questions. Minshew’s downfield accuracy might not be among the league’s, but Washington’s conservative offense will give Minshew plenty of opportunities to show off his plus intermediate accuracy.

Once they get an offensive line that can hold a block for longer than a second, Washington could have quite the nice young core of Minshew, Antonio Gibson, and Terry McLaurin on offense.
