Things are going from bad to worse for the Chicago Bears, as it appears the team may be dealing with a spread of the coronavirus.

Unfortunate news recently arrived for the Chicago Bears, as it was revealed that starting offensive tackle Jason Spriggs has tested positive for the coronavirus and is away from the team to try and not spread it to other teammates. However, it may be too late for that.

It’s also been reported lineman Cody Whitehair has tested positive, and now the entire team has been sent home from Halas Hall.

According to Bears insider Brad Biggs, the team could be dealing with more cases in the near future. Fellow offensive lineman Germain Ifedi is already away from the team due to close contact with Spriggs, but the bad news may not end there.

The Chicago Bears could potentially be dealing with a spread of COVID-19 within the team

The Bears are all set to take on the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, but things could most definitely change if more and more players end up testing positive for COVID-19. As Biggs notes, fans will need to stay tuned to see how everything plays out later on Thursday and this week.

For Chicago, this latest update just adds to what’s been a rocky 2020 campaign. The team is 5-3 on the year and in second place of the NFC North standings, but they’ve made a switch at quarterback from Mitchell Trubisky to Nick Foles and have had to deal with Allen Robinson being unhappy with his contract situation.

Add in coronavirus concerns and it just couldn’t come at a worse time for the organization, especially with such a big game against Tennessee only a few days away. The safety of the players and coaches is of course the top priority. We’ll have to wait and see if any additional positive test results end up coming in.
