Get to know Andre Petroski, one of the middleweights competing on season 29 of The Ultimate Fighter

A total of 16 fighters, eight middleweights and eight bantamweights, will compete for the chance to earn a six-figure UFC contract on the return season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). One of the middleweight combatants who’ll be looking for this prize is Andre Petroski.

Petroski hasn’t had a long career in the sport thus far. He racked up a 7-1 amateur record over a two-year period before making his professional MMA debut in late 2018.

Mostly competing for the Art of War Cage Fighting promotion (in both amateur and professional competition), Petroski won his first five pro fights, all via a finish in the first two rounds and three of those coming in the first round.

In his most recent bout, Petroski suffered his career defeat, being TKO’d late in the second round against Aaron Jeffery — a top prospect and Dana White’s Contender Series (DWCS) alumnus, who’ll be returning to DWCS this fall — at LFA 93 in October.

Petroski has a wrestling base, having had a fairly successful collegiate wrestling career, including a national qualification berth while at Kutztown University. Petroski, whose father wrestled at Penn State, is crafty with his takedowns, and he can follow it up with a skillset in jiu-jitsu and submissions or with some power he has in his hands.

The other middleweights competing against Petroski for the six-figure UFC deal include Aaron Phillips, Bryan Battle, Ryder Newman, Tresean Gore, Miles Hunsinger, Kemran Lachinov and Gilbert Urbina.

Season 29 of TUF will mark the show’s first season since late 2018.

The coaches will be UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and upcoming title challenger Brian Ortega.
