Jadeveon Clowney has had a miserable season with the Tennessee Titans up to this point.

With Jadeveon Clowney going on injured reserve, his signing by the Tennessee Titans looks awful.

The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft reunited with his former Houston Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel in Nashville on a one-year deal. Clowney was coming off a largely unproductive season with the 2019 Seattle Seahawks. The idea was he would fit right into Vrabel’s defensive system and have a bounce-back campaign. Clearly, that has not been the case.

Jadeveon Clowney has yet to record a sack in Tennessee Titans uniform

2020 was a disaster for the Titans in defensive line free agency. Tennessee signed former Atlanta Falcons first-round pick Vic Beasley to a high-priced, one-year deal. Beasley was released by the Titans before the middle of the season. As with Beasley, the Titans have yet to see Clowney record a sack in 2020. With him being a free agent at the end of the season, he may not even get one.

To be fair, sacking the quarterback has never been Clowney’s forte in the NFL. He is an adept run defender and sets up plays for his teammates to make. However, he only has 14 tackles on the season and not a single one involving bring a quarterback to the turf. With him going on injured reserve, Clowney will now miss at least the Titans’ next three games. His stock has plummeted.

Jon Robinson made some awful decisions in free agency as the Titans’ general manager this year.
