Happy Birthday to you, JuJu!

For those who don’t know, JuJu Smith-Schuster is among the most beloved Pittsburgh Steelers players. Known for his antics and high-scoring production, the now 24-year-old is celebrating his birthday the right way.

During the second quarter, Ben Roethlisberger connected with rookie Chase Claypool for his 10th touchdown on the season. However, the real celebration came to Smith-Schuster, who proceeded to blow out the birthday candles lit by Claypool after the 31-yard score. The entire receiving corp even was on tune to sing Happy Birthday to No.19.

A birthday to remember for Smith-Schuster

The Steelers are 9-0 for the first time in franchise history in large part due to their offense. Although Ben Roethlisberger is regressing, the 38-year-old has built a strong connection with his young receiving corp. The veteran now has 23 touchdowns on the year against four interceptions.

Smith-Schuster has been the old man of the group despite his youthful age. Although perhaps the No. 2 opposite of Claypool, his stat line still is one of the most impressive ones in the league. Through nine games this season Smith-Schuster has tallied 54 catches for 515 yards and three touchdowns.

Entering a contract season, Pittsburgh might be watching another mid-round gem hit the free agent market with other pressing needs around the team. If so, Smith-Schuster would be a prime candidate as one of the top pass-catchers available for 2021. Add in his swagger and personality and expect him to be making top dollars.

For now, Pittsburgh is playing like a contender and Smith-Schuster is having fun. Now if he could just grab a touchdown from Roethlisberger before the end of day, that would be a present he will always treasure.

Next. Could the Steelers go 16-0?. dark
