Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson can challenge defenses

Kirk Cousins may not be the premier quarterback in the league,  but he has weapons that make the Vikings’ offense go. If the opposing defense keys in too heavily on stopping Dalvin Cook on the ground, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson can get it done through the air.

Thielen has already set a new career-high with 11 touchdowns in nine games. He had two touchdowns each against the Cowboys and Bears, which means he’s getting hot when it really matters for the Vikings.

It helps that Thielen has Justin Jefferson emerging beside him. The rookie out of LSU followed up a 135-yard performance against the Bears with 86 yards and a touchdown on three catches against the Cowboys. He now leads Minnesota with 848 yards receiving.

Between Thielen and Jefferson, Cousins has the targets to create big plays on offense.

Obviously, the Vikings don’t want to have to depend on Cousins and co scoring 30+ points every week. That’s what got them into trouble against the Cowboys. Still, they are capable of filling up the scoreboard.
