Yasiel Puig should land with a new team in 2021 MLB free agency.

Several teams are lining up to sign the enigmatic baseball talent known as Yasiel Puig.

Puig unfortunately spent the 2020 MLB season out of baseball. He had originally planned to sign as a free agent with the Atlanta Braves, but after failing his COVID-19 test, the deal with the NL East champions fell through. Despite having to watch last season from home, Puig reportedly has three suitors in the Junior Circuit heading into 2021 MLB free agency. Who is going to sign him?

Could Yasiel Puig get an American League team over the top in 2021?

The three teams keen on signing Puig this winter are the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros. Though only Houston qualified for the postseason in an expanded field, there is reason for optimism with the two AL East teams that were down on their luck a season ago. Everything went wrong for Boston and Baltimore was more competitive than expected.

When Puig is at his best, he is a near-five-tool player and one of the most exciting outfielders in the game. However, consistency has rarely been his thing. He has a flair for the dramatic and has worn teammates out in the past. The Los Angeles Dodgers, the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians were all better after he left. Regardless, he can always provide the offensive spark needed.

It may not be the most robust market of all time, but Puig will end up playing somewhere in 2021.
