UFC is dedicating UFC 256, UFC Vegas 16 to the Stuart Scott Fund and The V Foundation

UFC is dedicating fights on Dec. 5 to the Stuart Scott Fund and The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

The UFC is joining in the fight to “Knockout Cancer.” The UFC and others will be chipping in to raise money and awareness for The V Foundation for Cancer Research, as well as The Stuart Scott Fund. The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by ESPN personality and legendary basketball coach Jim Valvano in 1993. Over the years the foundation has raised over $250 million in cancer research grants for those in need.

The UFC is dedicating the night of fights on Dec. 5 to the Stuart Scott Fund. Scott was a big fan of the UFC and used MMA training to help him through his battle with cancer. The UFC Vegas event of Dec. 5 will be headlined by Jack Hermansson vs. Kevin Holland. Viewers can donate at v.org/ufc.

The 14th annual V Week for Cancer Research from Dec. 1-12. They are taking an extended week to show the importance of these types of foundations and the work that they do for cancer research. The year’s goal is to raise $100,000 on Giving Tuesday to kick off the extended week of fundraising.

In addition, along with Top Rank, the UFC will raise awareness and funds for the V Foundation by dedicating the Dec. 12 event as “Ring the Bell to Knock Out Cancer” night. That event will be UFC 256 and will be headlined by Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno.

The UFC “Fight Like Hell” Night will be available on Pay-Per-View and UFC will also make a contribution, ensuring that at least $100,000 will be donated to life-saving research funded through the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Research Fund.

“Ring the Bell to Knock Out Cancer” Night will air on ESPN on Dec. 12.
