Fantasy fallout from Will Fuller’s six-game suspension

Will Fuller will be suspended for six games for using performance-enhancing drugs.
For as great of a fantasy football season you were having with Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller on your team, that has come to an end due to a six-game suspension for PEDs. Fuller will miss the final five games of the 2020 NFL season, as well as the first game of the 2021 campaign. So if you were planning to lean on Fuller in your fantasy playoffs, you have to adjust accordingly.
The Fantasy Footballers are bummed that Fuller will not be a reason you or anyone wins their fantasy league championship this year. However, there are receptions and fantasy points to be had on the Texans receiving corps in his extended absence. What players are worth picking up for the fantasy stretch run and which ones should you avoid all together in the suspension’s fallout?

Ultimately, quarterback Deshaun Watson is going to get his. He may not have Fuller as his favorite target, but he will still sling it to guys like Brandin Cooks the rest of the way. But with Randall Cobb on injured reserve, who will have to pick up the slack in Fuller’s extended absence? Will it be a receiving corps by committee approach or will someone be getting a bulk of the receptions now?
This impacts Will Fuller’s fantasy value not just this season, but next year as well
Andy Holloway really thinks tight end Jordan Akins is the biggest beneficiary here. He has really come on of late in the Texans receiving corps. While Darren Fells should be able to see an increased workload as well, Akins has emerged as the more coveted receiving target for Watson out of the tight end position this year. There are a few other players to keep an eye on as well.
Cooks may get a tad more receptions with Fuller out the rest of the year, but the receiver to pay close attention to might be Keke Coutee. There is also a pathway for running back David Johnson to become even more valuable as a fantasy commodity out of the backfield. Will the Texans offense be worse without Fuller? Yes, but not enough to refrain from using all of them in fantasy.

Overall, this is not a good look for Fuller in the slightest. He was having his best season in the pros before getting popped with PEDs. Because he will not be able to play in Week 1 next year, this hurts his leverage in free agency, as well in fantasy football drafts for next season. Regardless, Fuller’s suspension is a crushing blow to the Texans, his next contract and your fantasy team.
