5. Justin Jefferson lights up Jacksonville

The Minnesota Vikings have won four out of five games since their Week 7 bye week. The game they dropped to the Dallas Cowboys was one that probably should have closed out. Instead, Minnesota sits at 5-6, one game behind the Cardinals in the NFC’s cramped playoff race.

Since Week 8, quarterback Kirk Cousins has played tremendously. He leads all signal-callers in passer rating over the last month. He had his best game of the 2020 season last week against the Carolina Panthers without his primary target, Adam Thielen. There is no confirmation that Thielen will be ready in Week 13 (coronavirus), and that means more action for the rookie Justin Jefferson.

In the Panthers matchup, Jefferson was ultra-productive. He scored twice and added seven catches for 70 yards. Cousins distributed the ball all over the place, but it is evident his the drug of choice is Jefferson when Thielen is absent.

As for the Jaguars, they surrender 24 PPR points to game to wideouts. They do not have a single cornerback that can slow down Jefferson, so he may attract double-coverage like Carolina implemented.

All in all, Kirk Cousins is hot. So is Jefferson. Starting Jefferson is a must — with or without Adam Thielen in the Vikings lineup.
