The Detroit Lions just beat Matt Nagy’s Chicago Bears and he has to go at season’s end.

Matt Nagy’s Chicago Bears have lost six games in a row after falling to the Detroit Lions.

It was another bad day for the Monsters of the Midway on Sunday afternoon. For a hot minute there, the Bears were good. . .or so we thought.

After getting off to a 5-1 start, the Bears have dropped their last six. Not only that, but they just fell at home to a division rival that just fired its head coach. Darrell Bevell has won a game more recently than Nagy has. He has to go right now.

Where do the Bears go if they fire Matt Nagy?

Nagy is proof that not every branch of the Andy Reid coaching tree is worth its weight in salt. While guys like John Harbaugh, Sean McDermott and Ron Rivera have had great success, these are more defensive-minded guys who were on previous Reid staffs.

As for Nagy, he and Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, their NFC teams’ visors have hit the fan most catastrophically.

It is abundantly clear that Nagy does not have it. His offense has no creativity and quarterback play is about as poor as it has ever been in Chicago. If the bears were to move from Nagy, they may target Harbaugh’s younger brother Jim Harbaugh, who may want to leave his alma mater’s football program after six years.

The Michigan Wolverines are not good, but neither are the Bears.

Simply put, there is nothing we have seen out of Nagy in a month and a half that leads us to believe he should get another year leading this underperforming Bears team. The McCaskeys need to part ways with him and general manager Ryan Pace so they can start from scratch to build a team that can contend with the Green Bay Packers and not lose to an interim Lions head coach.

This is the loss that put the nail in Nagy’s coffin for being the Bears head coach long-term.
