Dear Cleveland Browns fans, ask Chicago Bears fans about the Cody Parkey experience.

Parkey has been a quality kicker in the NFL for the past seven years, but he’s remembered for one key moment. During his breakout season with the Chicago Bears, the former stud missed a crucial kick in the fourth quarter that would forever be enshrined as the “double doink” and perhaps worst moment in recent Bears history.

While history won’t repeat itself, but it certainly will bring back memories.

Parkey, who now plays for the Cleveland Browns, had the opportunity to help his team against the  divisional rival Baltimore Ravens. Instead, he’s cost them points up to this moment. Parkey missed a 39-yard field goal that would have given Cleveland a 10-7 lead.

Following a Kareem Hunt five-yard touchdown run, Parkey could have put the team down by a touchdown. Instead, he kick missed wide right, leaving the score at 28-20 and forcing Bears fans to relive the madness.

One look at Twitter and it’s clear fans weren’t happy.

One has to feel for Parkey…slightly

The biggest knack against Parkey has to be his ability to kick in big moments. In Chicago, he was average, making only 76.5 percent of his kicks, but 93.5 percent of point after attempts.

In Cleveland, Parkey has rebounded and been clutch for the Browns. Going into Monday night, he was making 89.6 percent of field goal kicks and over 97 percent of extra points. However, something about primetime games will always get the best of some.

But like Pat McAfee says, it’s “For The Brand” overall. Parkey’s brand is stinking on primetime games, so here’s hoping Cleveland just can score a ton if they make it to the playoffs in January.
