Welcome to the record book, Aaron Rodgers.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is, uh, pretty good. In fact, he’s on pace to produce another record-setting season in his Hall of Fame resume.

Every touchdown pass for Rodgers is great. However, his one to begin Saturday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers will be one he’ll never forget.

During the Packers’ third drive, Rodgers connected with Robert Tonyan for a one-yard touchdown to give Green Bay a 7-0 lead. It was Rodgers’ 40th touchdown on the season, also a league-high.

More than that, it would place him in the history books as the first NFL quarterback to throw for 40-plus touchdowns in three different seasons.

And there’s still an argument for MVP, right?

The Packers are now Rodgers’ team for now on

Rodgers’ resurgence in 2020 has been one of the greatest revivals the NFL has ever seen. No, he didn’t fall off the face of the earth, but in 2019 with a 13-3 record, the 37-year-old threw only 28 scores to close out the season.

The Packers did little to help build around their franchise quarterback at the 2020 NFL Draft or trade deadline. Instead, it didn’t matter to Rodgers. The addition of Tonyan as the breakout star, plus quality games from Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, has the franchise looking to be dominant on offense.

Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks with multiple 40-touchdown-pass seasons. Rodgers now sits on top of the throne as the league-leader.

Brett Favre and Bart Starr will forever go down as great pocket-passers, but the leader of the Packers gunslinger fraternity is Rodgers. And he’s well on his way to adding another trophy to the hardware case.

Next. Teddy Bridgewater has the worst turnover of 2020. dark
