Kellen Mond is going to the NFL after four years at Texas A&M.

Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond has been one of the biggest roller coasters in college football over the last few seasons, as he could follow up a stinker of a game with a magnificent performance that leads the Aggies to victory. At his best, Mond looks like someone who could do damage in the NFL, and he is going to test his luck in the pros after leading A&M to an Orange Bowl title this season.

Mond confirmed that his time in College Station has come to an end, officially leaving Texas A&M after declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Kellen Mond will be one of the most divisive quarterbacks in the 2021 class

After a slow start to his career with the Aggies, Mond ended his time under Jimbo Fisher with nearly 10,000 passing yards and 71 touchdowns against 27 picks. Mond also chipped in 22 touchdowns as a rusher, showing his dual-threat ability.

Opinions on Mond’s draft stock vary wildly. While ESPN has him ranked as the 73rd overall player in the class, and the seventh-best quarterback, CBS Sports has him graded out as a fifth-round player ranked 140th overall. The Draft Network doesn’t think very highly of Mond, giving him a seventh-round grade and ranking him 10th among quarterbacks.

Mond is a unique prospect. On one hand, he has 46 starts in the SEC to his name, exceptional mobility, and the ability to deliver accurately under pressure. However, his inability to go through his progressions and struggles against elite competition will weigh down his stock. Mond could be a Day 2 pick just as easily as he could slide out of the draft entirely.
