The Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Cooper Kupp avoided a major knee injury in win over Seattle Seahawks.

A week after they miraculously clinched a playoff berth, the Los Angeles Rams once again shocked the world by eliminating the rival Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round in their 30-20 victory. It didn’t come easy, as the Rams lost starting quarterback John Wolford to a neck injury and star defensive lineman Aaron Donald to a rib injury. Unfortunately, the injuries continued to haunt team from Hollywood on Saturday night.

In the final minutes of the fourth quarter, Kupp clutched at his right knee in a non-contact play. It looked like he received the Lachman Test on the sidelines by medical staff to see if his ACL was still intact and slowly limped to the locker room.

After the game, NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo reported that Kupp isn’t dealing with a serious injury. Rather, Kupp has a knee contusion.

Kupp is two years removed from knee injury

Rams fans thought the worst because Kupp is unfortunately no stranger to knee injuries. Back in 2018, Kupp suffered a torn ACL two weeks after returning from a knee sprain. He was ruled out for the remainder of the season, where the Rams made it to Super Bowl 53.

In 15 regular-season games, Kupp caught 92-of-124 targets for 974 yards and three touchdowns. In the Wild Card game against Seattle, Kupp caught four-of-nine passes for 78 yards.

Luckily, it appears that Kupp dodged a serious bullet. Barring any setbacks or new discoveries, the star receiver should be good to go for the Divisional Round game against their yet to be determined opponent.
