10 fight-themed cocktails to try while enjoying UFC 244

Here are 10 cocktails, inspired by the UFC, and provided by Nemiroff Vodka for you to enjoy over some UFC 244 next week.

Let’s face it, after the Nate Diaz/USADA drama from the last few days we certainly could use a drink (if you are of legal drinking age of course). Nemiroff Vodka, one of the official UFC sponsor’s has created 10 drinks that would be perfect for any fight night party if you still plan to have one that is!

Here are some recipes to enjoy, courtesy of Nemiroff Vodka.

Front Row

2 ounces Nemiroff Vodka

½ ounce Absinthe

¾ ounce Lime Juice

½ ounce Cinnamon syrup

3 ounces Ginger beer

Glassware: Collin glass

Garnish: Fresh mint sprig and a ginger candy

Direction: Fill a Boston shaker three-quarters full of ice. Add Nemiroff Vodka, Absinthe, lime juice, and the cinnamon syrup, and shake hard for 10 seconds. Fill Collin glass with bar ice and strain the cocktail and topped with ginger beer.

Cinnamon syrup: In a small sauce pot add 1cup water and 4 cinnamon sticks and bring to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, and strain out cinnamon sticks. Bring water back to a boil, add ½ cup sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.

No guts, No glory Mule

2 ounces Nemiroff Honey Pepper Vodka

½ ounce of Green Chartreuse

½ ounce lime juice

¾ ounce Thai bird chili-ginger syrup

Club Soda

Glassware: Mule mug

Garnish:  Thai bird chili and ginger candy

Direction: Combine all the ingredients except the club soda into a shake with few ice cubes and short shake. Strain into a Moscow mule mug filled with ice cubes. Top with club soda.

Thai bird chili and Ginger syrups: Combine  1 cup water,  1 cup sugar, and ¼ cup chopped ginger and seedless Thai bird chilies in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let syrup steep, about 30 minutes. Pour syrup into a sterilized glass jar through a mesh strainer to remove rosemary leaves, let cool before serving.

Tap Out

2  ounces Nermirfoff Vodka

½ ounce Aperol

2 ounces of Grapefruit juice

½ ounce Rosemary syrup

2-3 drops Angostura bitters

Glassware: Coupe glass

Garnish: Rosemary sprig

Direction: Combine all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and fill the shaker with ice. Shake the mixture vigorously for 10 seconds and double strain into a chilled coupe glass.

Rosemary Syrup: Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and ¼ cup rosemary leaves in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let syrup steep, about 30 minutes. Pour syrup into a sterilized glass jar through a mesh strainer to remove rosemary leaves; let cool.

Round 1

1½ ounces Nemiroff Vodka

¾ ounce Campari

½ ounce Jagermeister

Glassware: Double old-fashioned

Garnish: Orange peel

Direction: Pour all the ingredients in a cocktail mixing glass with a half-filled with ice and stir till chilled. Strain, using a Hawthorne strainer into a double old-fashioned glass with ice and garnish with the orange peel. Hold the orange peel colored side down and twist and squeeze the peel over the about two inches above the cocktail.

Ground and Pound

2 ounces Nemiroff Pepper Vodka

4 drops Absinthe

¾ ounce Honey syrup

¾ ounce lemon juice

1-ounce egg white

Glassware: Coupe glass

Garnish: Edible printed roaring lion

Direction: Combine all the ingredients into a shaker. Dry shake first, then wet shake and double strain into a coupe glass and garnish.

Lightweight

1 ½ ounce Nemiroff Vodka

¾ ounce Lime Juice

3½ ounces Tonic water

Glassware: Collin Glass

Garnish: 1 Ribbon Cucumber

1 Crack Black pepper

Direction: Combine all the ingredients into a Collin glass fill with ice and cucumber ribbon. Stir gently and crack black pepper to finish the garnish.

Jiu-Jitsu

2 ounces Nemiroff Vodka

½ ounce Campari

1-ounce Coconut Cream

2 ounces Pineapple juice

½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

Glassware: Tiki mug

Garnish: Ground Coconut, Nutmegs and a pineapple wedge

Direction: Combine all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and pour into a Tiki mug and top with crushed ice and garnish.

The Great Come Back

1½ ounces Nemiroff Vodka

½ ounce Averna Amaro

½ ounce White Crème de cocoa

1-ounce Espresso

¾ ounce Simple Syrup

Glassware: Coupe Glass

Garnish: Coffee beans

Direction: Combine all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously.  Fine strain into a chilled coupe glass and wait a few seconds for the cocktail to settle and garnish with 3 coffee beans.

Nemiroff Hooks

1¾ ounces Nemiroff Pepper Vodka

½ ounce Amaretto

½ ounce Grenadine (1:1:1 Sugar, Hot water and Pomegranate

½ ounce Lime Juice

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

Glassware: Double Rocks

Garnish: Angostura bitters and Mint Sprig

Direction: Combine all the ingredients into a shaker and few ice cubes and short shake and pour into a double rocks glass. Top with crushed ice and a mint sprig and few dashes of angostura bitters.

Final Round

1½ ounces Nemiroff Vodka

¾ ounce Passion Fruit syrup ( 1:1 Passion fruit puree and Simple syrup )

½ ounce St.-Germain

¾ ounce Lemon Juice

Dry Champagne

Direction: Pour all the ingredients except the dry champagne into a shaker half-filled ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a champagne flute.
