2. David Njoku

David Njoku spent the beginning of 2020 seeking a trade out of Cleveland. The Browns decided to keep him and he finished with an underwhelming total of 213 yards on the season.

Njoku’s tenure in Cleveland has been a weird one filled with plenty of losing and coaches who outright benched him. His trade request could have hurt his standing with Kevin Stefanski, but he was never openly punished like he was in 2019 by Freddie Kitchens.

The tight end had his fifth-year option for 2021 picked up by the Browns and is set to earn just over $6 million. Even if he only shows up for a year, adding Njoku would give the Packers offense a boost with Rodgers running the show.

Njoku is a 6-foot-4 tight end who has developed into a talented blocker as well. He could easily show up as the top tight end in Green Bay and would do so on a smaller deal.

Having a quarterback like Rodgers may be the spark Njoku needs to live up to his first-round draft status. The Packers could use the help too. Robert Tonyan remains a restricted free agent and should be back, but there is a lack of proven experience behind him with Jace Sternberger and Josiah Deguara.

Tight end is a position that takes time to develop into, and Njoku has had that time to become a better overall player. Sending a low pick back to Cleveland should work given the fact Austin Hooper and Harrison Bryant are already in place at tight end with the Browns.
