With so many teams interested in signing him, could J.J. Watt end up making the move to the Tennessee Titans?

One of the biggest questions this offseason is where J.J. Watt will end up playing next. After several sensational seasons with the Houston Texans, the standout defensive end and the organization have parted ways this offseason.

Now, Watt is looking for a new place to call home and there are several teams standing out per multiple reports. One of those teams in the Tennessee Titans, who appear to be serious in trying to land Watt. Will he end up putting the pen to paper?

The Tennessee Titans appear to be serious contenders in the J.J. Watt sweepstakes

On Tuesday while speaking with the media, Tennessee general manager Jon Robinson confirmed the team is interested in bringing Watt to town. At the same time, he did make it clear that things are in the early stages and nothing appears to be imminent.

“We’ve had some contact,” Robinson said via Pro Football Talk. “It’s early in the stages. We obviously know his skillset and what he’s meant to the Texans, having played against him twice (a year) and the type of player he is.”

That quote from Robinson should get Titans fans fired up, as Watt is no question one of the best free-agent options out there this offseason. The 31-year-old defensive end is coming off another big year, as he posted five sacks and two forced fumbles in 2020.

Unfortunately for Watt, it was another year to forget for the Texans. Houston finished the season 4-12. In addition to Watt, it’s also looking like Deshaun Watson has one foot out of Houston as well. With Watt, we could find out soon enough where he’ll be playing in 2021. It goes without saying, but Tennessee looks to be an intriguing option for him moving forward.
