Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski just turned 74 and his future is coming into question with the Blue Devils mired in their worst season since 1995.

The end is coming soon for Duke Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

The Hall of Fame coach is mired in one of the worst seasons of his career and his future is coming into question. Coach K just turned 74-years-old on Feb. 13, one of his best players, Jalen Johnson, just left the team, and they are in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1995.

All of these factors have combined to lead many to look at Coach K’s future and how much longer he wants to sit on the bench and guide Duke basketball.

Will Coach K retire at the end of the year?

He has little left to prove so he could retire at the end of the year and be considered one of the best to ever do it. Could the effects of this season lead Coach K to retire sooner than Blue Devils fans and even rivals would have thought?

Coach K isn’t the only Hall of Fame coach experiencing a tough year and facing questions about his future. Jim Boeheim, Roy Williams, Tom Izzo and John Calipari are all in danger of missing the tournament and closing in on the final chapters of their illustrious careers.

Among the group, only Syracuse’s Boeheim has shorter odds of retiring first than Coach K.

According to Bovada, Boeheim’s +275 top K’s +400.

Williams at +500, Izzo at +500 and Calipari at +650 round out the latest odds on who will be the first to walk away from the game.

Coach K isn’t going to go out on this down note, so don’t expect him to retire this year, but it’s coming sooner than later and he could call it a career within the next three-five years.
