The Washington Wizards beat the Los Angeles Lakers for their fifth win in a row and Bradley Beal’s fortune seems to be improving.

The Washington Wizards defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 127-124 in overtime last night to secure their fifth win in a row. Their longest winning streak in three seasons, the Wizards had been in need of some sort of positivity this year. Russell Westbrook’s addition to the team hadn’t been going as planned and Washington’s previous struggles pushed Bradley Beal into plenty of trade speculation.

Now, with some newfound magic, the Wizards are starting to pick up some steam and find their footing. Their last five wins have been against some pretty tough competition.

The Wizards have been winning but is that enough for Bradley Beal

Despite him signing that large extension, a lot of NBA fans are still wondering if Beal will be with the Wizards when the trade deadline passes. He’s maintained that he has no desire to leave Washington and that he simply wants to win. While they are by no means a playoff-hopeful team, this win streak has to feel good for Beal.

He’s been on a tear the entire season, but Beal’s last five games have been particularly impressive.

“It feels different, in a great way,” Beal said of the Wizards’ impressive five-game streak. “It feels great, but at the same time, we still haven’t done a damn thing. We realize that, and we keep telling each other that. We’ve still got bad habits we need to break, but we don’t discount what we did.”

So is winning all that really matters to Beal? He was just named an All-Star Game starter and the March 25 trade deadline is swiftly approaching. We’ll see if all of the speculation surrounding him this season amounts to anything or if he chooses to stick it out in Washington. For now, though, things do seem to be looking up.
