With linebacker K.J. Wright potentially leaving Seattle, it looks like he’d have no problem joining the San Francisco 49ers.

If you ask Seattle Seahawks fans out there, there’s no question they want general manager John Schneider to do everything in his power to bring back linebacker K.J Wright. The veteran tackle machine is out of a contract with the team, though, and is an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Wright has been linked with multiple teams, but again, the hope for everyone in Seattle is he stays put. With that said, Seattle supporters would be heartbroken if Wright were to leave town, especially if he joined an NFC West team. Well, what about the San Francisco 49ers?

KJ Wright leaving the door open to join the 49ers isn’t good for the Seattle Seahawks

Goodness. Wright defending San Francisco here might send some in the Pacific Northwest into panic mode. The two teams hate one another and it’s been that way for years.

People in Seattle still can’t get over the fact they have to see Richard Sherman in a 49ers uniform every Sunday. Imagine seeing Wright in the same gear as well.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder has been a stud for the Seahawks ever since the team drafted him back in 2011. Since then, Wright has gone on to play in 144 games for the organization, making 140 starts. Wright has posted 941 tackles and 13.5 sacks. He was also a crucial member of the Seattle defense that helped the team win the Super Bowl back in February of 2014.

Looking down the road, it might be tough for the Seahawks to hang on to Wright. He’s going to garner plenty of interest in free agency, and Seattle may not be able to afford him. Should he join San Francisco, though, it’d sting a little extra for Hawks nation.
