Some big news arrived for Chicago outfield prospect Brennen Davis, as he’s been added to the team’s spring training roster.

With spring training here, Chicago Cubs fans are excited to see the team’s star players get back and make some exciting plays both in the field and at the plate. Well, Cubs supporters will now get the chance to see one of the team’s most exciting prospects make some noise as well.

On Thursday, the team announced that top outfield prospect Brennen Davis is at spring training as a non-roster invitee. While Davis won’t be heading to Wrigley Field prior to Opening Day, this is a still an exciting experience for the 21-year-old standout.

Outfield prospect Brennen Davis has joined the Cubs at spring training

“He’s here,” skipper David Ross said via MLB.com. “Take it in. This is a great opportunity. It’s nice when you get to come into this type of environment, see MVPs, Gold Glovers, Silver Sluggers, All-Stars all around the field and watch how they work and the routines. You can learn a lot from that.”

A second-round pick from the 2018 MLB Draft by the Cubs, Davis will spend some time at spring training with Chicago before starting off the season in the minors. In 2019, Davis made a huge splash at Class A South Bend, hitting .305. He went on to smash eight homers and posted 30 RBI. Following that showing, Cubs fans began to get excited about Davis’ potential in the bigs down the road.

Now, he’ll have the chance to face some major league arms and remind Ross why he could make an impact for the club at Wrigley sooner than later. Let’s see how the young outfielder does in the coming weeks for the Cubbies down in Arizona.
