The Los Angeles Lakers have been getting some solid defense from LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma thinks he should be rewarded for it.

The Los Angeles Lakers clobbered the Golden State Warriors on Sunday evening, 117-91 to snap the Warriors’ three-game win streak. LeBron James played his 1300th regular-season game, finishing with 19 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and two blocks. He’s had to do the heavy lifting for the Lakers, who had dropped five of their last six contests in Anthony Davis‘s absence. The 36-year-old had forced himself into MVP consideration before his team began to struggle recently.

Now, with Dennis Schroeder back from COVID-19 health and safety protocol and in the starting lineup, the Lakers are starting to look like themselves again.

Los Angeles in its championship run prided itself on its defense and Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma thinks LeBron deserves the highest honor on that end of the floor.

With the All-Star Game just around the corner, teams are starting to make waves as real contenders. The Lakers are likely looking to bolster their roster with more size and defense.

Still, as it stands, Kuzma thinks one of the game’s greatest players is still getting it done on defense.

LeBron has seemed to up the defensive anty lately. In the game before against Portland, James finished with 4 steals and 3 blocks to complement his 28 points.

The Lakers are now back in second place in the Western Conference after the Clippers took a loss over the weekend. While MVP may still be on the table for James, does he have a shot at making this year’s All-Defense team?
