As the beginning of NFL free agency approaches, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly locked in on keeping quarterback Dak Prescott out of free agency.

Dak Prescott is arguably the most interesting free agent set to hit the market on March 17 when NFL free agency officially kicks off. The 27-year-old will be heading into his sixth season with the Dallas Cowboys, his last effort cut far too short after his gruesome leg injury.

Much to-do was made last year of Prescott’s contract situation with the team. This year, a lot of the same questions still exist. The franchise is expected to place the franchise tag on the quarterback for the second year in a row, where he will earn $37.7 million for the 2021 season.

Still, reports surfaced yesterday claiming Prescott is seeking to come in just below a Patrick Mahomes-type deal.

Today, Dallas is making its stance regarding Prescott much more clear.

Cowboys are reportedly not looking to let Dak Prescott test free agency

Prescott had thrown for over 1,800 yards in just five games last season and was clearly one of the better quarterbacks in the league before his injury. Now it looks like Dallas may be letting on about how valuable they think he is.

In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, the NFL’s Ian Rapoport said that there is “no chance” Dallas lets Prescott hit the free agency market in the coming weeks.

It seems like Prescott has a few different scenarios that he could look at that would all pay him handsomely. Will Dallas use the franchise tag on him once again or will Dak take the risk in playing for another deal that would likely make him the highest-paid free agent ever?
