The New York Giants just released Golden Tate, and the veteran wide receiver seems like an ideal fit for the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers.

Following the rough loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game, emotions were running high for Aaron Rodgers and he made some comments that really made it seem like his future wasn’t clear with the Green Bay Packers. Well, things have since settled, and the future Hall-of-Fame signal-caller is ready to lead this team in 2021.

The question is, could general manager Brian Gutekunst be ready to make him happy by providing him with another wide receiver option? If so, Golden Tate was just released by the New York Giants, and getting him to Lambeau Field makes too much sense for both sides.

The Green Bay Packers would be wise to try and sign wide receiver Golden Tate

Tate just wrapped up his 11th season in the league but had a down year with the Giants. The 5-foot-10, 197-pounder appeared in 12 games, starting four, and was held to 35 receptions for 388 yards and two touchdowns.

With New York once again struggling on the season, the frustration continued to grow for Tate. Now he’s a free agent and has the ability to sign with any team he wants. Why not the Packers? Green Bay figures to once again be in a position to go on a deep postseason run next year behind the strong right arm of Rodgers.

One would think Tate would love to not only go to a contender but catch balls from one of the best quarterbacks the NFL and its fans have ever seen. Going from Daniel Jones to Rodgers is like upgrading from a Fiat to a Ferrari.

Adding Tate would also make Rodgers happy, as he’s clearly been wanting the team to bring in more receiver options for him. This feels like it’d be a win-win for everyone involved.
