Kyle Pitts 2021 NFL Draft landing spot No. 2: New England Patriots

It’s hard not to look at the tight end position and think of the New England Patriots. The success that Bill Belichick has had with players at the position over the years can never go unnoticed. But as there is a distinct lack of pass-catchers currently on the roster, adding a young tight end would behoove the franchise.

Pitts would be a dynamic piece working in a Josh McDaniels offense. The offensive coordinator has plenty of experience with previous Patriots tight ends moving them all over the formation and getting them in favorable situations. Pitts affords him the chance to do that in droves.

The two things that could prevent New England from eyeing Pitts are if he doesn’t make it to No. 15 or if they are eyeing a quarterback of the future with that pick. In any case, though, the possibility of adding the Florida star has to be in consideration.

Kyle Pitts 2021 NFL Draft landing spot No. 1: Philadelphia Eagles

Though the coaching regime in Philadelphia has undergone a massive overhaul this offseason and, frankly, over the past few years as well, the Eagles have been another team that has utilized their tight ends quite a bit in the passing game.

Having said that, all indications are that the franchise will move on from Zach Ertz this offseason and, while they still have Dallas Goedert, the Eagles would certainly love to be able to use more heavy personnel with two tight ends on the field. Adding Pitts with the No. 6 pick would allow them to do that.

The Eagles are going to give Jalen Hurts every opportunity to prove he can be a franchise quarterback and that undoubtedly includes adding weaponry to the offense. A wide receiver wouldn’t hurt but, if we’re just talking about pass-catchers, it’s hard to imagine many better options for Philadelphia than Pitts.
