T.Y. Hilton decided to re-sign with the Colts, apparently turning down a nice offer from the Ravens in the process.

The Indianapolis Colts are looking to begin a new era in 2021 with Carson Wentz at quarterback. He is going to need some weapons to succeed in his new role and he received great news this week when T.Y. Hilton re-signed with the Colts on a one-year deal.

Hilton was one of the bigger names available on the market and likely saw more lucrative offers than the $10 million he got from the Colts. He confirmed that while talking with Pat McAfee and revealed the Baltimore Ravens actually made a strong push to acquire him.

T.Y. Hilton confirms Ravens tried to lure him away from Colts

Hilton is 31 years old and was able to secure a nice 2021 salary from the only team he has ever played for in the NFL. While the Ravens may have offered more, we aren’t sure what the guaranteed money would have looked like in such a deal.

Hilton was drafted by the Colts in the third round back in 2012. He has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark five times since then and could see a late career resurgence with Wentz throwing him the ball.

The Ravens are now left looking for receiver help after Hilton stayed with the Colts and JuJu Smith-Schuster returned to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fans in Baltimore may be wondering if this is a Ravens problem, or if the star receivers just wanted to stay home.

2021 is also a unique year given the lowered salary cap. The Ravens may have to focus on drafting top receivers if the free agency route is trending in the current direction.
