5 teams who should swoop in and sign Antonio Brown
As the Seahawks perhaps try to make Russell Wilson happy, if it’s even possible or if they’re even really trying, we circle back to the possibility they’ll sign Brown. In March, long-time NFL insider John Clayton reported Wilson is still trying to bring “A.B.” to Seattle.
Last offseason, as Wilson lobbied for signing Brown, the Seahawks reportedly did what was tabbed as “due diligence” before opting not to pursue him. With the newly wealthy Tyler Lockett and physical freak D.K. Metcalf in place as their top two wide receivers, the position is not necessarily a grave need this offseason either. Especially if their offense will remain run-oriented at head coach Pete Carroll’s behest.
Seattle doesn’t have the cap space right now to meet what Brown seems to be looking for. But Wilson is renewing a push for the signing, as he tries to have influence on personnel moves. The Seahawks can tell everyone a lot about the broader situation with their quarterback by at least renewing a possible pursuit of Brown now.
