Tony La Russa’s Opening Day lineup has Chicago White Sox fans hitting the panic button far earlier than anyone expected.

The Chicago White Sox are all set to get their 2021 campaign underway, as the team will take on the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night. This will also mark the official start to the Tony La Russa era, with the veteran skipper all set for Game 1.

However, La Russa’s first lineup of the season just dropped and to say fans are not pleased would be a total understatement. Matter of fact, the White Sox supporters are blasting La Russa in the replies of the team’s tweet.

White Sox fans are not happy whatsoever with Tony La Russa’s first lineup of the season

From the looks of it, the biggest beef folks have is that Adam Eaton is batting second, while Leury Garcia slotting in at the No. 6 spot isn’t winning La Russa any fans either. When Chicago announced they were hiring the former World Series-winning manager as the team’s new leader, it really caught folks off guard. A 76-year-old to try and connect with a team full of young players?

To make matters worse, it was revealed earlier this year that La Russa was actually arrested on DUI charges and tried using his name and Hall-of-Fame status with the officer to try and get out of it. Not a good look at all.

Now, La Russa is mixing things up with the White Sox lineup and fans are starting to lose the small amount of patience they had to begin with. If Chicago starts off the season with a win, countless folks out there will have to eat their words. But if the White Sox struggle, you better believe the veteran manager will be getting plenty more hate on social media in the near future.
