Here are the first wave of college stars who will be attending the 2021 NFL Draft in-person.

The 2021 NFL Draft is in Cleveland this year and many top college prospects will be in attendance.

While we should not expect the same amount of attendees as in years past due to the ongoing global pandemic, it will be nice to see the draft pick announced from somewhere else besides NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s basement. Even though top prospect in Clemson Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence announced he is not going to Cleveland, several other players will.

Here is the first wave of players who will be attending the draft in Cleveland at the end of April.

2021 NFL Draft attendees (first wave)

  • Mac Jones: Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback
  • Trey Lance: North Dakota State Bison quarterback
  • Ja’Marr Chase: LSU Tigers wide receiver
  • DeVonta Smith: Alabama wide receiver
  • Kyle Pitts: Florida Gators tight end
  • Christian Barmore: Alabama defensive lineman
  • Gregory Rousseau: Miami Hurricanes pass rusher
  • Micah Parsons: Penn State Nittany Lions linebacker
  • Caleb Farley: Virginia Tech Hokies cornerback
  • Patrick Surtain II: Alabama cornerback

When looking at this initial list of 10 guys, two things stand out right away. The first is four of the 10 are members of the 2020 National Championship Alabama Crimson Tide team in quarterback Mac Jones, wide receiver DeVonta Smith, defensive lineman Christian Barmore and cornerback Gregory Rousseau. It seems that these guys want to enjoy their draft-day experiences together.

The other big stand out from this initial list of 10 players are the amount of guys who opted out of the 2020 college football season. Those include LSU Tigers wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, Miami Hurricanes pass rusher Gregory Rousseau, Penn State Nittany Lions linebacker Micah Parsons and Virginia Tech Hokies cornerback Caleb Farley. Amazingly, none of the draft stocks plummeted.

Look for more players to join this list of Draft Day attendees to grow in the coming days.
