3 reasons to watch ONE on TNT 2

ONE on TNT 2 will feature one of the promotion’s biggest homegrown stars.

ONE on TNT 2 is going to see a wild card. It feels like only in MMA does this type of thing happen. At ONE on TNT 1, both of the promotion’s biggest stars lost in ways that caused controversy. Eddie Alvarez lost via DQ after illegal shots to the back of his opponent’s head and Demetrious Johnson lost by KO after getting kneed in the face while on the ground. A legal strike in ONE Championship, but a controversial one nonetheless.

Now for ONE on TNT 2, half the card has been canceled for various reasons. Thankfully, the ONE Championship lightweight title fight with Christian Lee and Timofey Nastyukhin is still set but most of the main card has been scrapped. Janet Todd is taking on Anne Line Hogstad in a fight thrown together just weeks out. Todd is just coming off of a fight from March 19, where she defeated Alma Juniku in a Muay Thai competition.

The rest of the main card is missing, and it’s unclear what or who will join the lineup at this stage.

Three reasons to watch ONE on TNT 2

What will the card look like

The first ONE on TNT event ran about 90 minutes, give or take. That card had three fights and a lot of filler. It’s very possible that one of the prelim fights gets called up to help fill in for time but it’s anyone’s guess what that fight will end up being if there is even one. Maybe they just do two fights and hope they both go long to help with the show.

Can Janet Todd continue her winning streak?

Janet Todd is one of the best female Muay Thai fighters on the planet. She’s on a six-fight win streak in ONE Championship and even defeated the great Stamp Fairtex in that span. Todd is facing off with Ann Line Hogstad, who isn’t exactly a title contender, but with the fight being booked just two weeks out from the event, it’s ok to think that anything could happen. As that’s the right thought. Anything could happen at this point.

Christian Lee looking to prove he’s the best

Despite being the lightweight champion and the ONE Championship Lightweight Grand Prix winner, there are still some who doubt Christian Lee as one of the sports best at lightweight. He’s super talented and quite capable but he’s taking on a monster of a fighter in Timofey Nastyukhin, and it’s a win that would legitimize his Grand Prix victory. After all, if Nastyukhin doesn’t get hurt in the tournament, Lee never enters the finals and wins the whole tournament after just one fight. If Lee can win here, and retain his title, then it’ll be hard to not see Lee as one of the very best in his weight class.
