83. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 57. QB. Stanford. Davis Mills

It’s not ridiculous to say that Dalton can when you’re a few games. It is ridiculous to say that he is the full-fledged 100% starter of the future.

And sure, maybe the Bears will be high enough to draft a top five pick in 2022, but do they really want to do that with this roster? Why not swing for a player who has the tools to work with Nagy, or perhaps any offensive coordinator at this point?

Multiple scouts consider Mills to be the “next man up” pass the top-five QBs in the class. A high tempo thrower from Palo Alto, the former Cardinal is known for his accuracy and overall arm strength. During his 2019 and ’20 season, he completed at least 65.5 percent of his throws to go along with 18 touchdowns against eight interceptions.

Overall strong foot work and good vision, Mills is your stereotypical pocket-passing quarterback. In the right system, he could be a middle-tier starter. Build around him and perhaps he’s even a high-end one.

The Bears do not own a fourth-round pick.
