Matt Nagy is coaching for his job in 2021. Here are five bold predictions for how the Bears’ pivotal season will go with Andy Dalton at the helm.

Bears ownership is quickly running out of patience with head coach Matt Nagy and GM Ryan Pace. If Chicago doesn’t show serious progress during the 2021 season, a regime change is coming in the Windy City.

Quarterback remains the biggest personnel question facing the Bears. Mitchell Trubisky is finally out after his tumultuous tenure in charge of Nagy’s offense. It remains to be seen whether or not free agent signing Andy Dalton can provide the franchise with a meaningful upgrade under center.

The defense could really help their offensive counterparts out if they can become a dominant unit once again. The group was good but certainly not great in 2020. Improving on last season’s scoring average of 23.1 points per contest could do wonders for Chicago’s win total.

It’s clearly a make-or-break season for the Bears. Here are five bold predictions for how the team’s upcoming season will go down.

5. Artie Burns will win a starting job

Burns was slated to be a starter heading into the 2020 season before he tore his ACL. At the moment, he’s listed as a backup behind Desmond Trufant on the depth chart. That’s not going to hold up once training camp gets going.

Burns isn’t going to be a star for Chicago in 2021, but he’ll give them solid play at one cornerback spot. That’s going to help this defense get back on track. His return won’t be a major storyline around the league, but it will be a pleasant boost for the Bears.
