The Clemson football program has their first-ever No. 1 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft and quarterback Trevor Lawrence made a big splash in a unique way.

To celebrate the big night for the Tigers fanbase, Clemson University teamed up with HEARTLENT Group to create a very novel piece of video content to help bring the announcement home to the Clemson fanbase and the entire NFL Draft audience.

In a statement from HEARTLENT Group:

"“Led by creative artist Jared Jacobs and HEARTLENT’s Chief Creative Officer, Elliot Gerard, the team created a stop-motion video to depict the moment Lawrence trades his Clemson orange for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ teal and gold. You can see how it came together in this behind-the-scenes ‘making of’ short clip.”"

Clemson’s Associate Athletic Director of Creative Solutions, Jonathan Gantt, had this to say:

"“At Clemson, we’re always trying to find new and creative ways to tell our story and promote our student-athletes. We knew Trevor being the number one pick was going to be an enormous moment and so we were excited to collaborate with Jared and HEARTLENT Group through Opendorse to contribute something unique and memorable to the conversation.”"

Clemson football and Trevor Lawrence once again impress

Trevor Lawrence had been projected to be taken with the No.1 overall pick for the majority of the offseason (and even during the 2020 season), and the Clemson family once again made sure that school history didn’t go unnoticed by the rest of the football-watching country.

As a Tiger, Lawrence led his team to three straight College Football Playoff appearances, two national championship games, and one College Football National Championship. As a Jaguar, he’ll be looked at to help rebuild a franchise that was one game away from the Super Bowl in 2017 but has missed the playoffs every year since.

Fans in Jacksonville are hoping the splash Lawrence makes on the field will be as impressive as his college career and everything he’s accomplished off the field.
