Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is hoping to get back on the hardwood on Wednesday to take on the Houston Rockets.

NBA fans are sitting on pins and needles waiting to see when LeBron James will return to the courts following his ankle injury. His most recent return was short lived, as his bum ankle gave him more problems than originally anticipated.

However, James is on the verge of getting back to the action. Unfortunately, he won’t be ready to rock for when the Los Angeles Lakers take on the New York Knicks, but NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski says the superstar will look to be ready to take on the Houston Rockets later this week.

LeBron James is eyeing a return against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday

While it’s a bit of a bummer James won’t be ready to rock to take on the Knicks, which will surely be a fun showdown, the LA faithful won’t have to wait much longer to see him lace up his sneakers again. Injuries have put a damper on James’ 2020-21 campaign, but the Lakers once again look like serious threats to win the NBA Finals.

The hope and expectation is that both James and fellow standout Anthony Davis will be fully recovered from their injuries and be ready to lead LA on a deep postseason run. After winning it all last year, James, who is averaging 25 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.8 assists per game this season, is ready to try and capture his fifth Finals victory.

He’s won it once with the Cavs, twice with the Heat and once with the Lakers. Arguably the best basketball player ever, James wants title No. 5 this summer and he wants it bad. Only time will tell if his injured ankle will allow him to go after the hardware.
