The No. 1 overall pick will hit the road in Week 1 to take on the Houston Texans.

The Trevor Lawrence era is already been penciled out as the next great legacy in football. Granted, when you go to 34-2 in college and win a national title, the expectation will be high when entering the next level.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will begin a new regime come September, hopefully, one that leads to similar success with the No. 1 pick as Clemson had for the past three seasons. That will begin in 2021 against the Houston Texans.

Lawrence will likely be the Week 1 starter for Jacksonville barring any setbacks. The Jaguars will hit the road and travel to NRG Stadium to face off against the struggling franchise without an identity.

It’ll be a battle between former Clemson quarterbacks in Week 1 when Trevor Lawrence makes his debut against Deshaun Watson and the Texans

While Lawrence is sure to take the field, it’s unknown if his fellow Clemson star quarterback will. Deshaun Watson has faced a turmoil-filled offseason that began with trade demands and was later met with double-digits claims of sexual misconduct and assault. The trade rumors have grown quiet but depending on the ongoing legal matters, it puts into question if Watson will be in uniform or if he’ll be facing an NFL-mandated suspension.

Lawrence, the can’t-miss gem, will have the opportunity to start his professional career off on the right now. Just because his first season might be losing one doesn’t mean he’s destined for doom. Both Peyton Manning was one of the worst quarterbacks during the 1998 season, throwing 28 interceptions on the year.

Getting that first win is like nothing else for a player. Against the Texans? Lawrence has a pretty good shot to grab it in Week 1.
